The United States healthcare system. Pt. 2

Any American, who says that this new healthcare bill is COMMUNISM, is quite literally, fucking retarded. Not just plain old retarded, but fucking retarded.

Do you even know what communism means? Have you ever lived in true communism?

Not even the Soviet Union was communist. Communism was always promised, but it never arrived.

China? They are one of the most capitalist countries in the world, and most successful as well. I mean, most of the stuff you have, and most of the stuff I have is made in China. It all is.

Communism is not about control. Communism is about equality, it’s about everyone working together. It’s about no person’s life mattering more than another’s due to anything.

This, however, is caring about your fellow citizens. Your fellow countrymen and -women.

It’s not even socialism. It’s not even Universal Healthcare. Socialism is what the Soviet Union had.

Unless you have lived, or have parents who have lived under Soviet or similar power, you have no clue, nor any right to dub this as socialism or communism.

And those who say, that this is going to bring more taxes… Well, you have it pretty light in the US. Your tax rates are among the lowest in the world.

The only reason this would increase taxes at all, is the fact that the US keeps picking a fight with different countries, who choose not to think the same way as you do. You keep fighting a war, for something so outdated as a fuel as petroleum.

This healthcare bill will have a lot of good points. Just focus on them, instead of complaining about the bad bits.

It’s not about government control. That is already there, whether you like it, or not. This has nothing to do with that.

Everything has its good and bad bits. If you keep focusing on the negative, you will not only bring doom upon yourself, you will make others feel the same.

The United States healthcare system.

The United States recently got its healthcare reformed.

I know this because Republicans/Conservatives have been crying out so loudly, you can hear the irrational complaining across the “pond.”

I support it. Why?
Because it makes greedy insurance companies take everyone with a pre-existing condition.

It allows a child to be under a parent’s insurance until the age of 27.

It gives small companies a tax credit of up to 50% to go towards employees’ insurance.

It requires insurance companies to report, where, how, and why money is spent.

It’s far from perfect. It’s far from the system we have in place over here in Europe.

It’s not Universal Healthcare.

But what it is, is a step in the right direction.

Why?

Over here, in Europe, when you go to hospital, the first question ANYONE asks, is whether the patient is going to be OK.

But, under the current system in the United States, the first question ANYONE asks, is whether the patient has insurance.

And if they don’t have insurance, and they need a surgery to survive, their surgery will take place AFTER someone’s elective (cosmetic) surgery, who does have insurance.

Money should never be the first priority.

Fuck all.

Everything is suddenly changing.

I’m beginning to lose my ability to write, to speak, to complain. The world is suddenly changing, my world and the whole world. The US is getting a new healthcare system…

And today I had the hardest exam of all. 3.5 hours of 4 different subjects. All of which decides my future.

And I don’t feel anything. Not anything at all. I’m not feeling pain, not feeling sorrow. I’m not afraid, but I do care. I’m worried a bit, but I’m not sure I can feel my own emotions anymore.

Life passes me by a billion miles a second, but I hardly feel it move, change.

I’m not happy, I’m not sad, I’m not hazy, I’m not glad.

I feel fuck all.

Ten foot c*ck and a few hundred virgins.

I’ve discovered a new form of comedy: musical stand-up.

And a new comedian: Tim Minchin.
