Music – it used to sound much much better

Yet another post about music.

This might sound a bit of a rant, but this is what I truly feel and believe.

Music used to sound better. Well, before the 90s. I mean, the 80s music was great. The 70s music wasn’t bad and I bloody love music from the 60s and early 70s.

Of course there’s been a lot of great music lately, but most of it is pure BS.
I’m a more of a rock-kind of person. I also like classical music. Mostly classical rock, a bit of alternative rock as well.

But these days:
Jonas Brothers? What? To me, it’s not music. No offense to any JB fans, but I don’t understand how anyone with any taste in music can like them? Well their “Paranoid” was kind of okay, but else has been ****.

Lady GaGa? What the ****? Look, I’m not an unreasonable person. I understand people have different tastes in music. But seriously? Anyone can actually tolerate that? Well, “Poker Face” is kind of… listenable. But most of it is plain rubbish.

And the whole trance/techno genre? No offense to any trance/techno fans, but I would rather listen to three hours of a cat screaming in pain. And I love cats, they are my favourite animals. Trance/techno sounds like two-three people ****ing against a wall. Or just ****ing a wall.

Rap? I prefer reading poetry while listening to something good. Eminem and 2Pac were THE ****, but the recent stuff has been simply ****.

Pop? Well, 80s pop was great. 90s pop was kind of ****. 00s has been horrible.

And yesterday I was listening to a song by The Beatles and my friend told me to change the radio station and asked me why I listened to such crap music. I mean, what? It was the bloody Beatles.
I need new friends. Desperately.

Do you feel the same? Is music getting worse by the day?

By the way, I was thinking of mentioning Katy Perry, but I actually like a few of her songs. They’re not bad, but they are certainly not good.
